Former junior engineer gets 2-yr jail term for corruption

A retired junior engineer from Odisha has been sentenced to two years of rigorous imprisonment for embezzling government funds. Anup Kumar Das was found guilty of misappropriating Rs 1,560 by fabricating payments to non-existent labourers for a pond excavation project. The court also imposed a fine, with an additional jail term for non-payment.
