Six individuals died and five were critically injured due to lightning strikes across multiple districts in Odisha on Wednesday. The victims include residents from Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, and Dhenkanal districts. The government has announced Rs 4 lakh ex-gratia for each deceased’s next of kin. Details of some casualties are still awaited.
